Nature and Outdoor Adventures

Barossa Sculpture Park (Free)

Situated  on Mengler’s Hill, the Barossa Sculpture Park showcases 17 striking works created by artists from around the world - including France, Belgium, the USA, Japan, Egypt and right here in the Barossa Valley. With sweeping views across the valley that stretch all the way to the sea, it’s a stunning spot to pause and take in the scenery. The park was established during the first Barossa International Sculpture Symposium in 1988, and today it remains a must-see for art lovers and families alike.

Lyndoch Lavender Farm

Experience a sea of purple and breathe in the calming aroma as you stroll through the stunning lavender fields. Kids will love exploring the gardens, spotting butterflies and enjoying tasty treats in the Café that features a menu of  lavender-inspired delights including homemade ice-cream and scones. Before you leave, browse the farm shop for unique gifts and handcrafted  lavender products to take a little piece of the Barossa Valley home with you.

Whispering Wall (Free)

Just a short drive from Lyndoch, this engineering marvel is a hit with kids of all ages – a magical spot where whispers travel across the dam wall. Stand at one end and send a secret message to the other side – it’s a fun science lesson and a great photo opportunity.

Barossa Bushgardens (Free)

Located in Nuriootpa, the Barossa Bushgardens are a peaceful haven where you can explore native plants, wander along the walking trails, spot local wildlife and enjoy a picnic under the gum trees. They’re also home to the Barossa Community Labyrinth – a unique Chartres-design path offering a mindful, meditative experience. Family-Friendly Dining

The Lord Lyndoch

There’s something special about a local pub - the sense of community, the welcoming atmosphere and a menu that caters to all ages. Our local favourite is The Lord Lyndoch, proudly serving the Barossa for over 20 years. Here, you’ll enjoy classic pub-style dining with options to suit every taste and appetite, including a Junior Menu that solves those tricky mealtime decisions and even includes fruit for dessert. After a day of exploring, you can also grab takeaway for an easy family dinner back at your accommodation.

The Table Café and Wine Bar

Open for all-day breakfast and lunch, The Table Café and Wine Bar is a great spot for families to enjoy a relaxed meal. Kids will love the hearty breakfast options and fresh lunch dishes, while adults can pair their meal with a glass of local wine or a perfectly brewed barista coffee. For those arriving for a weekend in the Barossa Valley, on Friday Nights, the café opens for dinner -  making it the perfect way to kick off the weekend with a family-friendly dining experience in the heart of Lyndoch.

Ministry of Beer

For families who love a casual vibe, the Ministry of Beer is the perfect spot to enjoy casual dining with a local twist. Settle into the shaded beer garden or the expansive bar area while the kids tuck into tasty Flammekueche  - a yeast-free alternative to pizza and just as delicious – and a menu of locally sourced charcuterie and snacks. Adults can sample unique craft beers brewed on-site,  making this welcoming venue the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the Barossa Valley.
